← About Curv Link
A start page of the sites you use every day
Curv Link is a web app that brings the icons of your favorite sites and a search bar together on one screen, ready to be the first page you open each day.
Common problems
- You type the same addresses or dig through bookmarks for sites you open every day.
- The browser's default new tab page does not hold enough sites.
- You look at this screen every day, so you want your own wallpaper and colors.
How Curv Link helps
- Put your favorite sites on the cylinder as icons, spin it, and open them right away.
- Search the web from the search bar with the engine you choose (Google by default; Yahoo!, Bing, DuckDuckGo and others are available). Suggestions and your search history appear as you type.
- Change the wallpaper (solid color, Earth, Light Trails, Aurora Flow, or your own image) and the colors.
- Make separate cylinders, for example for work and hobbies, and switch between them.
- With Web Helper installed, Chrome opens Curv Link in new tabs.
Get started in 3 steps
- Open Curv Link: Open Curv Link in your browser. No account is needed.
- Add your sites: Add the URLs of the sites you use most from the + icon or from Settings.
- Open it in new tabs (optional): In desktop Chrome, add Web Helper and Curv Link appears every time you open a new tab.
Notes and limits
- Curv Link is not a search engine. Searching from the search bar opens the results page of the engine you chose.
- While suggestions are shown, what you type is sent through Curv Link's server to the search engine. Turn off "Show Search Suggestions" in Settings to see only your search history.
- Chrome lets only one extension replace the new tab page, so Web Helper cannot be used together with another new-tab extension.
- Because the view is 3D, it can feel slow on older devices.
FAQ
Which search engine does it use?
Google by default. You can switch to Yahoo!, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Baidu or Yandex.
Can I use it without an extension?
Yes. Curv Link is a web app, so it works as soon as you open it in your browser. Add Web Helper only if you want it to open in every new tab.
If I stop using Web Helper, does the new tab go back to normal?
Yes. Disabling or removing Web Helper restores Chrome's normal new tab page.
